When I click play on a game (for instance, COD) sometimes it loads up normally. Sometimes I just get a black screen.
I have to force quit in order to get rid of said screen.
I tried clearing Mac cache and quitting geforce in activity monitor.

When I click play on a game (for instance, COD) sometimes it loads up normally....
it may help increasing the buffer on macOS, usually black screens after launching a game means GFN doesn't have enough memory to decode the audio and video to streaming it, in this case since it's mac, it's buffer

alternatively you can try using GFN on Safari and see how it goes there, GFN use a different codec system for browser and it's better optimized
