install the .net core sdk
MAKE SURE
YOU DON'T install
.net 6.0
wait actually
let me check mine
you're using the latest version of unity?
and vs code?
yeah basically latest
okay so
go here, install .net 5.0
then i downloaded C# Extension in VS Code
i already did install it
i just dont know what version
yes
go to start menu/settings, type add or remove programs, and in the search for programs options, type .net
like so
as you can see my .net sdk is 5.0
okay so you 6.0 sdk, which doesn't work with unity
uninstall it and install the 5.0 version
what about the other versions that you see?
see i'd think it's safer if you get rid of them, in case of version conflicts
ill remove all of them, even net framework
bro it taking too long to uninstall these
do i have to uninstall them before i download NET 5.0
you don't need to, but it will make things a lot easier
because then you don't have to ask vs code which version it needs everytime
ok just give me 2 mins them i'll download net 5.0
okay
i just need to know why cant i have NET Core SDK 6.0?
nvm then
alright imma download 6.0
i found a official site somewhere
saying unity and some other apps don't support .net 6.0
okay this is weird
i'm looking at forums and some are saying unity does plan to work with .net 6.0
but honestly and i'm not sure, and i'm just sharing my setup, which worked
so if you want to try with 6.0 go ahead, i'm not sure i can help if there are any errors is all
it's okay, just let me outline a few steps you'll see tmrw
basically, install 5.0 sdk, then install 4.7.1 dev pack and then some more config
nws, i'm just happy someone doesn't have to go through the same pain i did
trying to set this up
Yeah I went through a lot of pain for months
Searching on yt
Videos that have wasted my time
haha i forgot about that
