Post a screenshot of your installed workloads window
@noble ingot You need to post these here. Didn't make a thread for nothing
Can you expand the Game Dev With Unity on the right pane?
it doesnt expand down
I'm doing it rn on my computer
there isnt an arrow on it i can see to expand it
Did you install VS from the Unity Hub, or as a standalone app (from the website)?
i installed visual studio and unity seperetly as i need spesific versions for some of the projects i am working on . 2019 edition
its so anoying cause i dont know how im gonna get help with my code if this cant be fixed cause im stuck and dont know whats wrong with my code
Then you can uncheck that Unity Hub option on the right, you don't need it, it'll save some space
ok
Once that's done, you can hit Modify.
already done
Then select the VS install, click More > Repair
Don't try to escape from the IDE configuration...
I wasn’t trying to escape honest I’m just frustrated and angry 😑 sorry I know it’s not your fault shit ain’t working for me . I’ve been at this for nearly 5 hours now and it’s getting to me
Oh I wasn't saying that for your original Unity issue, you'll see what I mean soon enough lmao
Anyway, once it's done, open Unity and take a screenshot of the External Tools config
Yeah, Edit > Preferences > External Tools
So, close Visual Studio first, then select anything else in the dropdown at the top
Hit Regenerate, then select VS back in the dropdown, and Regenerate again.
there isnt any other to pick
Ah, so just regenerate, and open VS back up by selecting any Unity script in your project
should anything be coming up ? cause i dont think any of that code is wrong
it says that with all new scripts i start up
Can you go back to Unity, and open the Package Manager (Window > Package Manager), and make sure you have the Visual Studio Editor package installed?
The second one, update it to the lasest version
done
Regenerate, and restart VS
Also it says incompatible, did you get any message popping up when you first opened the project in VS?
just that it was incolpleet and that i could ether run it normaly or in safe mode i chose normsly as the code isnt finished
thats why it cant run propperly
So, open a file explorer to where your project is located, we're going to do some cleanup
can we not just work on my programing issue i really just want to get this project finished
No.
why not
i just need to figure out why my code isnt doing what it should
i dont want the answer handed to me i want help
if thats ok
And to receive help you need a proper programming environment
i dont know if its cause ive mispelled something i am dyslexic
maybe i should try that ?
my ide is fine i dont need all those pop ups ive been coding like this for months with no issue .
You're wasting my time here, I'm trying to help, but you're preventing it
i just dont want to do the visual studio stuff i just want to get help fixing my code
no offence
In VS, where it says (incompatible), right-click on it, and choose "Reload project with Dependencies" if there is that option
ok can you help me with my code now please
No, I have to get off to work now, I'm late
Sure, given that it's well formatted and explained
great thank you
