#claudes not lying tho

oh thanks
cgpt was the worst since they went to 5
i have had good luck with google AI and perplexity. about to try claude
chatgpt was worse before that
maybe for learning, IDK. i used it strictly to write code for me
even for code, it used the most outdated code possible
claudes knowledge cutoff is right before unity 6's release
thankfully the things i needed were mostly version agnostic, but yes, it was Not fun or easy
claude knows way more than chatgpt about unity. when its info seems a little outdated, ill go to the unity docs and check it myself and tell claude if its different from what it says. itll actually remember that.
You shouldn't really use chat gpt and any chat bots for coding. Use agentic tools, like codex and such.
very true.
Ideally providing it with tools to compile, and check the console log.
i am going to try my luck with a local agentic type, but i doubt it will be capable of much of anything on a 12gb card
it has the ability to work directly in Unity
Local models aren't gonna do very good. At least not with 12GB.
claude actually just released a feature for the desktop app that also isnt just an edge thingy. its called cowork where you can give claude access to a whole folder.
You're basically limited to something like qwen 4b. Maybe 9b quantized at best.
i'll give it a shot soon. and Claude cloud. ATM, i am falling asleep in the seat. have fun all!
i tried to use LM Studio for a local AI, and while its better than chatgpt by a longshot, claude is still 3x better cuz it can learn.
I don't see how any open source model would be better than gpt today. Maybe close at best. And even then it's 200b+ models that you can't possibly run on your PC.
i have a sweet gaming pc so i can probably run most of em
also, i really like that the new claude model can actually teach like a teacher. the new model started being like "alright, youve done this before in past projects. do you know what this is called?"
it was talking about a class constructor
i love how instead of writing the whole code out for me, claude can just guide me in the right direction instead of me being lost still after 2 5 year old youtube videos that use a depreciated unity version
somehow im actually retaining some of the information too
It doesn't seem like you know much about the topic. You'll need 10-20 top tier gaming GPUs to run models that are close to that of open ai or anthropic.
open ai is probably using 10 potatoes
Alright. I see this is not going anywhere. Good luck with whatever you're doing.
chatgpt broke the linux distro i was trynna use by making me install a very old nvidia driver
Would be really cautious using Claude in the way you are now
I was getting advice from someone leading at a leading QM computing software company, and even he advised to use Claude.
In reality if you dont already know all the stuff your using it for like you or me, you have to know what to expect, know what you need from it, not go down rabbit holes, not derail etc.
I havent used claude yet, only some chatgpt. but this is something I think is helpful to share
I dont think you literally should let it do everything for you. And if you cant follow what its doing, imo I think the plot is lost
@viscid moss pinging since this thread has already expired
ive fully finished the whole thing i was trying to make
