Honestly, might be a slightly unpopular opinion but.... unity-talk gets mistaken frequently for a general chat and I think its name does not help it one bit, it should probably be named something like #unity-help or #unity-ask to emphasize that its a channel to find help for general topics that no specific channel exists for.

Would imply that this is the only channel to ask in. All channels are help channels already.
Channel name went through several iterations landing on "Unity" in the channel name to highlight the topic. The channel is indeed about discussing anything Unity related absent dedicated topic channel.
People who are using it for general chat, without reading #📖┃code-of-conduct, or channel description, would do so in any first channel they see. That's unavoidable.

This does appear to have made it a general chat room, instead of a general Unity chat room. "anything in between" really changes things
