A 3d horror indie game. Where you are detective goes through seeing paranormal activities.
A 3d horror indie game. Where you are detective goes through seeing paranormal activities.
You copied that XD
I'm just learning atm, i dropped my dream game long ago bc i tried way before my time lol
Phasmophobia was straight horror game. But i want something different. Like you live in a logical world ends up seeing the dark side step by step
Its like climbing stairs untill you reach climax eventually.
Was it too difficult?
oh yeah, it was gonna be a big mmo lmao
something like Sao type of style but the project was too big for my level
I always wanted a good actual mmo like Sword art online from anime but no one build that.
aight so basically the very basics, you'll need to learn movement with a sprint mechanic that is based off of stamina
because it wouldn't be a horror game if you could just infinitely sprint away from something lmao
I'm still big fan of sao☠️
Yeah. Scripting is the main issue here. However i hope i will learn as i can
Learn forget and learn again...
so basically what i'd recommend attempting first is learning what's required for a recreation of something like slenderman or something similar
or another type of horror game that could be preceived as simple so you could get a feel for the type of game you want to make eventually
funny enough my next project was gonna be a horror game lmao
Horror game sells well and its kinda fun though
so lets start you off with your movement mechanics
for a horror game you'd want some sort of end goal or objective for the player
and you need to align your movement mechanics towards that goal
so let's say you were to recreate slender, the end goal is to collect all 7 pages while slender chases you down
so with it being a traveling type of game with a monster chasing you. you'd need a sprint with stamina so you don't just run away 24/7 and never get caught
if you had puzzles where they did parkour or something, you'd need a jump mechanic with a refined jump height and gravity
Also this is a huge no no to think about
don't think about the money atm as hard as it sounds
because the overwhelming majority of indie devs have their first like 10-20 games flop or even more
Yeah i saw that
it's like winning the lottery honestly
It doesn't matter for me. I doing this only for making my time worth. I don't feel wasted when developing something(skill) like i used to with online games
I believe gaming is an art. I enjoy playing story based games.
as long as you don't think about the money it'll be a much better environment for ya
Like the witcher 3 with beautiful world and adventure though it wasn't matched with AAA graphics.
like honestly yeah the end goal is always to be able to just make a living off of it
but it's unlikely to happen for your first few years of game development
Think of it like college, right now you're sitting at a desk to learn. without expecting money in return right now. you're building up a foundation of skills for your future
Do you think AI 3d modeller will advance this year or next?
honestly I wouldn't worry about Ai rn
Ai could be a huge advantage if it can design low poly model
true but at the same time it'd be better to just learn how to do it yourself
Yeah. Can't say for sure what it creates. But as a tool it will be a big help. I used blender and honestly after that my respect towards 3d designer had increased.
Origin of everything
Btw... Do you sculpt using graphics pen, tablet or you are team 🐁?
My mom took the pen as a Garbage
How it feels? I have never sculpted. Can you design anime characters with mouse without the advantages of a pen.
feels pretty aight to me
I don't feel like a pen is an advantage tbh
a mouse feels better imo
btw this was the cube lmao
i was just messin around with the cube to see what i could make
and now it's becoming buff cube
So it's a relative feeling. I will try so then
It could be a good representation of blender. Just post it on blender community you surely get likes
lookin kinda Thiiiic xD
witness the power of cube! @acoustic notch
i got a portal/gate too lmao
I'm saying about the creativity 😂
I'm turning all this into a tower defense game ngl lol
Nc. You shouldn't have to worry about 3d design if you can do both
Would good though
the demon cube made me decide on it lol
I was like... "yknow, a cube tower defense game outta these would be fun to make"
Thinking of adding a souls like twist to it by giving the player a power up each wave
Need animation effect for that
Speaking of animation. I also have to consider that
Learning
Learning never ends
like for example the player would choose between 3 power ups like "tower attack speed: +5%" "tower attack damage: +5%" "Base Max Hp: +5%" "Base Regen: +5%" "Enemy count: +5%(Since enemies would give gold)"
Oh that would be interesting.
When did you start learning these things like blender, unity, coding etc?
I started learning to code in like 2020 but i never really got into it too much. same with blender and unity
but i just came back and started doin stuff
but i also did some javascript before bc of custom npcs mod for mc
When i first tried learning in unity in 2024 m, i gave up after a month then I switched to python and the machine learning stuff. But now here I'm want continue this time
Thats an interesting
Stuff to make
I don't see npc mods that much these days
and a few things are similar between C# and customnpcs version of javascript
like init is similar to void start or update is literally the same as void update
so there's a few easy dots to connect
Yeah. And the python is the easiest of them. They all came from C. So it makes sense
I chose python bcz it was simple and i was lazy learner
yeah most i did for python was learn how to make a calculator lmfao
But this month i completed the basic c# tutorial(was easy though)
Honestly i didnt do much for the courses lool
i just kinda threw myself at unity and started learning individual mechanics and stuff
Keep it up. You have way more experience than me.
