Not entirely clear what you mean. You can set the light color to white for it to not "blast" any color at all.
Basically if an object is close to the light, then the object will turn whatever color the light has selected. And I want to limit that.
If you have a white light, the object just turns completely white.
C you bave a green light, the object turns green and so on.
It sounds like an issue with your shaders or materials. Sharing a screenshot of the issue and the object material might be helpful.
