#Facepunch steam transport is still considered a viable or supported solution ?

The Facepunch Transport is community maintained. It doesn't really have actively maintained support, just kind of gets bug fixes every once in a blue moon. I see a handful of people use it on here.
I don't really know of any other Steam alternatives except for the SteamNetworkingSockets one which is pretty much in the same boat.
is there a specific reason why you want to use a steam transport based layer?
Thanks for the quick response! I prefer it because of the Steam Lobby integration and the fact that it's free if the project is published on Steam, at least i read it a while ago that their services are free
I'm not sure you need to use a Steam based transport for Steam Lobbies. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong.
No i don't think that is mandatory, but the workflow seems to be well integrated
Their services are free if your game is on Steam, correct. Not a bad reason at all to choose their services. There are free or mostly free alternatives as well. Epic Online Services are completely free and almost all of Unity's services have a very generous free tier.
Whatever API you use to create and manage Steam lobbies would have very little, if nothing at all to do with the transport.
