#Mixed light, subtractive vs shadowmask issue

Here's my issue. I have a mixed directional light in my scene. Baked with Subtractive lighting, the scene looks perfect, except that materials with a normal map don't really look as great. They don't shine much in the light and everything looks more flat.

They look better with baked indirect, or shadowmask, but then it looks like the directional light is leaking through the scene, even with light blockers. It depends on where the camera is and what angle it's facing but the sunlight cuts into the interior somehow.

It determines how big a shadowcasting mesh can be without clipping through the near plane and leaking light wherever the camera goes
