#Relay unfair billing
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Always I see there are 40+ concurrent players in peak timezone daily, but my ccu monthly always hit only 15 CCU. It's been 8 days of September and I hit 1 CCU here
These much players I have always
My monthly active players are 15k+
Daily active players 1k-2k+
And my relay ccu 1
I mean wtf
Your issue seems to be with bandwidth usage. You can view the charts in the Relay Overview on the dashboard to get an idea of what's going on.
I'm not sure why the average CCU is so low. But 1 avg CCU for a week would be 168 player hours. What is your average play time per user?
How to see the play time per user?
Unity Analytics can give you the average Session Length
As a rough estimate that kind of makes sense.
40ish players during peak hours, which I’m assuming drops to 0 or close to zero during late night and early morning. That would make the daily average 20ish CCU.
Factor in some areas of downtime throughout the month and that’ll bring 20 down to around 15.
Not sure about the 1 for this month. But it’s early in the billing cycle so some inaccuracy is to be expected I’d say.
My game is roughly not being played only 4 hours per day. And it is in peak continuously 14 hours per day, 40+ players average in that 14 hours
It don't work for me, it always show null data
I said rough estimate. I’m just saying generally speaking it’s entirely possible for your numbers to work out to 15 monthly average CCU.
For Analytics to work, you have to manually consent and start collecting data in code.

Yeah can be, but still a year passed and yet it's always the confusion in relay usage, never able to get it
Ohh, thanks I'll check that out
From what I remember from previous discussions, if you usually have 15 monthly average CCU each month that means you’re allotted 45 GiB as your free tier for bandwidth (3 GiB for each monthly average CCU)
Seeing as you’re almost 3x over 45 GiB, that would explain the bill.
Yes, I got that, but it's currently showing 1 CCU. And if it kept that low all month I'll get only 3gb free
And it's definitely that players are actually more than 1 ccu
That's why I see this unfair
I never reach 50 ccu
In March month I reached 40CCU
That was lowest player base in march
Now my player base is more huge and it's low ccu

My game only earns 80% of server costs, I am in loss since 6 months
I would say the chances of that happening would be next to none. Remember that that dashboard is purely an estimate. And again, it being early in the month, the monthly average is not going to be accurate.
But still huge bills 🥲
The total number of players does not equate to concurrent users.
I would really delve in to setting up Unity Analytics. If you can track your own numbers for playtime and CCU you’ll be able to verify the numbers you’re getting on the dashboard and in your bills.
Once you get Analytics up and running, you'll be able to more accurately measure usage. Or at least playtime
Thanks, I'll setup the analytics
I would also say you should be reaching out to Support x10 more than coming to this forum. They’re there to help and explain.
I tried several times, they always get away with explanations
Anyways 😅
I'll setup analytics
