hey so question, ive never really played around with lighting before. how can i make the shadows stop generating/rendering after a certain variable distance to simulate a height difference between the light and an object? (Might not respond because of work)

If so, I don't think you can

2D lighting calculates all shadow casters infinitely tall, more like extending towards the screen than what you'd have in 2.5D perspective

Iirc you only get the light texture in shaders after that, so it doesn't have any information about what's casting the shadow, or even distance or direction from the light
