there's a whole bunch of documentation for the feature already, and looking at this your question seems a little broad
as a starter, did you check the limitations?

I figured out that the problem was my model, idk but maybe it's just not big enough for lod transition? I tried different model and it works great
and there is another model that doesn't change LODs
I've even set the bias to 0.99 and global lod threshold to 100 and it still uses lod0
the model is not in the limitations
