Skybox / environment reflection source is used for materials' reflections on materials unless there is a reflection probe to use instead
Also, lighting must be generated from the lighting window to be in a format the materials can access
Baking static or realtime GI is not necessary to generate the environment reflection probe

The editor sometimes does that automatically, but not in all situations

If you want accurate reflections, you should use reflection probes for the rooms
Removing reflections prevents smooth materials from having the appearance of glossyness they're meant to have
