#uNode pro vs FlowCanvas
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hi there are someone who used both i would highly reccomend unode as it is closer to c# than node canvas, but does have a higher skill ceiling
I prefer the built in tool Unity Visual Scripting (uVS). For 3 main reasons.
-
anti update bugs. Ive seen complaints about things being broken when unity updates their stuff so your entire project is at risk and dependant on 3rd party developers to update their external tool.
-
the amount of help, tutorial or support from 3rd party tools may be even less than uVS.
-
while not exactly a reason, this server is Unity. And this channel is about uVS. Not for external assets support. So keep topic relevant.
Some people still dont know unity has a built in visual script solution...
Hi, thanks for the detailed answer. I used uVS and honestly find it a bit barebones. But I agree with some of your points
Hi thanks for the answer. I'm undecided because I'm coming from Unreal and I see FlowCanvas closer to Blueprints. However, I want to use the best tool, not the easier, one which allows me to cover even advanced scenarios like multiplayer, async code, multithreading etc.
at the end of the day its your choice but so far from also using unreal blueprint unode is the closest we are going to get it in unity
i dont know anything about flow canvas but i promote Unode to everyone i know because its awesome, it has no limitations or almost.
