#think large studios will not rebound for

I think there's gonna be a massive brain drain. Too many people have lost jobs over the past few years, with not enough positions available for them to go to - ending up in them leaving the games industry.
I lost my job in April/ May (non-games Unity dev).. there were 6 Unity dev jobs I could have applied for in the UK 😬
yeah i can't really comment for what its like in UK and Euro, in Canada i have seen the huge studios ditching people like crazy but i have been seeing smaller places rise up with some of that talent
i will admit i have no clue what the job search is like, since well i have not even applied to the last 3 jobs i have worked
There's so much visibility on layoffs (like tens of thousands over the past 2/3 years).. but hardly ever hear of new studios coming from them
The place where I did my internship 3 years ago had ~100 people back then, today iirc it's like 30?
The old company I worked for got sold to Rockstar and then dropped from 150 people to like 50 almost immediately 😄
lost my job in the process, did some webdev again to keep myself afloat and now im working in a gamedev startup again
I went straight into a freelance gig - my ex-boss (who closed the company/ made me redundant) actually found me something else 😄
I've just no idea what I'm doing in ~2 months when this is finished
think large studios will not rebound for a long time
They are making more money than ever, but they figured out they can get away with squeezing devs/artists in crunch time and let AI help them to get more profit for the shareholders / executives
