Background blacks out? I don't think real world light does that exactly
Is this in 2D or 3D
In real life I think the effect you're thinking of is when the actor is lit by one or more spot lights that are angled from the sides or above so that they don't illuminate the background directly behind the actor
When a different set of lights that illuminate the also background or only the background are dimmed out, the character appears to become focused by the spot lights
This can be done the same way in 3D as in real life, easier the narrower the spot lights are
In 2D if using URP's 2D lighting you can separate lights by sorting layer to control them separately
How's the "background blacking out" here?
