#Game dev help

Programming mainly, it's also the easiest one I can learn in my opinion
so that's the thing you look forward to when making a game? (for me its multiplayer and backend, ||servers, vps's||)
Considering my capabilities kinda yeah, might change as I get more experience
ah, well as a programmer you can always build stuff, it just wont be like the highest quality
however think about it, an artist can't code so they rely on someone else
from my experience i've learned a bit of everything, to make it easier to understand my clients and to also do stuff myself
Yeah, Ik that is why I am looking for a team that each has their own speciality.
what if you do it all yourself?
Well modeling i can most likely figure out but one problem I had everwhere was anythn art related, so GFX will be an issue, VFX i find fun making (at least the particles)
particles was only thing I tried making side of VFX so far
then watch videos, use Ai etc, the more you know the more you dont have to ask for!
crappy map I made for my development of my game, it gave the basic premise
I can't argue there really, but at a point it will put a strain on myself
especially since im still in school
same
i still develop since its the thing that makes me wake up every day
(mostly because i know i'll waste the £170+ a year on my servers if i dont finish)
The map making is simple due to how I plan to make the game, but proper modeling for bosses and other stuff I'll have I will struggle there, I prefer making more of the functionality then the visuals but you don't really have an option as a solo dev
lets see a screenshot of your game? I want to see what you've got so far and if you should realistically be worrying
Damn
I didn't start the modeling yet, all I have is a plane and a sphere player controller
I shouldn't be worrying
But I was sick so I couldn't make more progress
yeah, so dont worry at all xD make the core game, that's what i did for my game then I dealed with more
The main core is quite simple in my opinion, it just will take a bit to setup
It's just a bunch of collisions aka combinations of cubes
that's fine, most of the huge games didn't start with the best graphics
they were in a phase called "whitebox"
True, plus I do plan to go for a simple low poly style for this game
Well I will most likely code the main core and then start on the multiplayer part, in the meanwhile of making the main core I'll just search into what I'll use for multiplayer
if the multiplayer matters that much then use netcode
