Hey guys hope u have a nice day
im looking for some information about what matters for game dev studios in europe?
so far ive done some stuff for my portfolio
so my plan is to make lotta simple games but with tons of features
use git and upload code n projects to github
make 5 min devlogs just short videos of the game
and uploading to itch io after finishing them
i might also join game jams soon
ill get certifications of c# classes maybe
and will get ielts above 7
is that everything i need?
#Getting Hired in a Game Dev Studio
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
A little background: I've been a lead developer, so on several occasions I've been in the position to hire Unity devs.
Having code on Github, great. Videos, also good. Lots of projects - not really necessary. I'd rather one or two impressive ones than a bunch of game jam level projects but either will do.
This repo got me hired on the spot https://github.com/Wolfos/Adventure-RPG
Right now im making a 3d game its simple in terms of the idea n all
its just a mage trying to escape cursed island loops
but the game will have tons stuff like cinemachine third person animations collection system timers portal system nice ui ai navigation and so on
i wanted to make unique stuff or new things but i think showcasing that i know all the basics of unity and how to make games in general would be better right?
Yea ill be working on few massive games that showcase everything
so what matters the most?
in my plans
which ones are necessary to have and which are not?
Matters:
- Post code on Github
- Portfolio describing projects and systems you worked on
- Some videos showcasing the projects
Doesn't matter:
- Devlogs, not gonna watch them
- Certifications
thank u so much✨
