What does the mesh look like from behind?
Seems like a combo of shadow quality settings and lighting angle
By playing around with the shadow settings like the drawing distance, cascade count and normal bias, you might be able to fix it a little bit, but ultimately, this is an issue inherent to real time shadows - small gaps would cause issues like this.
ah kk. yeah i might try baked shadows next time. i'll try messing around with the shadow settings now.
