On mixed it works (still not properly), but when i set to baked it is just black

Quick answers:
Have i set object to static? Yes, i tried both static and not static
Have i checked the contribute global illumination checkmark? Yes, tried both checked and unchecked

Baked GI and realtime GI are totally different systems, and they're both different from realtime lighting

limpid mantle
#

Checked, realtime GI

cloud garden
#

You mentioned using mixed and baked type lights, which contradicts trying to use realtime GI

limpid mantle
#

dont it work with mixed?

#

I guess it was placebo effect when j was turning it on and off

#

i mean, if baked mode works only with baked GI, i have to use that

#

realtime uses too much resources, mixed too

#

baked is the only way it is optimized without big quality loss

#

it worked before, but after the project crashed it is broken now

I'm not getting much information about what you're trying to achieve

#

And it seems you don't exactly know yet what the different lighting methods do or how they should be used?

limpid mantle
#

I will send screenshot

#

Give me one minute

#

it looks like this with baked light

cloud garden
limpid mantle
#

I tried disabling it, but it does nothing

cloud garden
#

Expected, it's just unnecessary to generate another set of lightmaps that you won't need

limpid mantle
#

Yeah, thanks for that

#

mixed light

The steps to baked lighting in short are to
-have Baked type lights with sufficient range and intensity
-set environment geometry as Contribute GI static and to receive GI from lightmaps (unless you want to use probes)
-enable lightmap UV generation from mesh import settings for all meshes that should be lightmapped, if using custom meshes

#

Keep Direct Contribution, Indirect Contribution as well as Albedo Boost and Indirect Contribution all at 1 unless you have artistic reasons to change those once lightmapping works okay

limpid mantle
#

i tried setting the static only to contribute GI, yet no changes

cloud garden
#

If you're using ProBuilder, lightmap UV generation will have to be enabled from ProBuilder

#

After all that and Generating, the area in inspector below the lighting settings should give you a recap of what it has baked

limpid mantle
#

I dont use ProBuilder

limpid mantle
cloud garden
#

So, this tells us it's baking light in some form on some of the objects

#

It would allow you to see the baked lightmaps directly without any textures in the way, as well as to ensure there's no UV overlap to prevent lightmaps from being applied

limpid mantle
cloud garden
#

Which render pipeline was it?

limpid mantle
#

hdrp

limpid mantle
cloud garden
#

All of these look okay

#

Except the discrepancy that it seems there's a lot of light captured on the lightmaps but we see none of it

#

Since you're on HDRP you should check for exposure

#

It's possible that your emissive ceiling lights are so bright, that with an exposure that doesn't overblow them all actual light is close to black

limpid mantle
cloud garden
#

So temporarily disable the emissive ceiling lights and turn up the exposure override

#

Yes
Even just disabling the light fixtures may cause lighting to become visible, if you're using automatic exposure

limpid mantle
#

setting it to -5 gives this

cloud garden
#

Can you disable the ceiling fixtures?

limpid mantle
#

like the emissive material?

cloud garden
#

Either disable the emission from the material or the objects themselves

#

Which were highlighted orange in your contributors / receivers view

#

Once they're gone, you should be able to test more exposure levels without them blowing out the brightness

#

Although since they didn't do that on -5 exposure I guess you may be using exposure-independent emission for them

cloud garden
#

It also resembles APV lighting, but the contributors / receivers view appeared to confirm they were lit by lightmaps, not probes

limpid mantle
limpid mantle
cloud garden
#

Very well could

cloud garden
#

When I say "I guess you may be using exposure-independent emission" that implies I'm interested to know if you were, or if it rings any bells at all

limpid mantle
#

So, i disabled the SSGI and it works, but now problem is that the light is coming

enabling baked shadows fixed it

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
