not sure why this would look better but currently all it seemingly does is make everything harder to read?

overall it feels so much harder to passively tell what channels im looking at while navigating

Only point I want to make is that you should probably either display an emoji on all of them, or none of them

#

I assume the reason this is done is for better accesibillity, also because the Visual Scripting Discord server is being merged here and they want to avoid overwhelming the users with channels. Generall an icon or image better represents something compared to text, which must be read.

#

I mean it's not just the icons, the whole server is changing

my 2¢: it's not really adding anything to the channel names
compared to the old system where categories had emojis, there they were displayed smaller and didn't draw much visual attention
now i find the icons to draw attention and making it somewhat harder to read the channel names at a glance

#

definitely agree with fusedqyou on consistency though, to align the channel names as well

I think the remaining channels will be merged into forums, so no effort has been put into finding them icons. But I'm slightly out of the loop

I think my biggest issue is that it draws my attention towards the emoji more than the text

#

and my brain just does not care about what the emoji represents whatsoever, it does not see a man running and go "animation channel!"

#

but seeing "animation" does lol

Now most of the archived channels have been removed and icons have been added to forum channels it feels normal enough. I'm used to it at least

Im still not a fan of them. I feel used to it but it just looks bad. The fact it uses platform specific emojis makes it feel completely out of place. Im seeing it with windows emojis on desktop and android emojis on mobile, and neither style fits in at all.
I think it should just be put back on the channel category at most. None of the servers im in have emojis on channel names, while 2 of them have emojis on some categories.
