Hey everyone.
Ive been looking at this portion of this discord server... And honestly. It has been a tough ride learning unity. From scratch just 3 months ago.
I don't want to learn c#. I found visual scripting (uVS) interesting and it works very well with my brain (i have asperger syndrome and visual thinking matches the way i think & process logic)
Not so long ago i finished my first jam (from GameDev TV). And my team of 3 was amazed at how much i could add to the game considering my short timeframe experience.
So here's the question:
Should i start a thread in here with tutorials on how to do things with unity's official visual scripting?
The official uVS discord server is a ghost town. Even the mods dont show up. Unity discussions - the same.
Youtube videos? Outdated. Most tutorials are 2-5 years ago. Courses? Err what courses? Apart from codeMonkey (made years ago) there's almost none...
So why would i do that?
Because i enjoy teaching. And i wish i had updated videos using visual scripting in unity 6.1 and new input system when i started... I have added maaaany features in my game that i couldn't easily find in c# tutorials (dont even show up in uVS tutorials) - and honestly, not knowing c# makes it hard to translate to uVS.
So what do you think? Is it worth it? Are people interested in this?
Let me know what you think.
P.d. i honestly believe unity visual scripting is powerful as it is. Sure it could be better. And there must be people out there like me who is more compatible with this way of programming. People who are used to c# will obviously find it hard or nonsense to switch over.
P.p.d. im not an expert. So i could start with simple, basic how-to tutorials for common logics game usually needs. Using my own game already-done features as examples so we see real life case. I like to share, and hopefully this serves others as well 🙏
