I think the scale of the room compared to the furniture is super off, either one of them needs to be either scaled down or scaled up
You can do a rough estimate of how big you want the room to be based on your picture references, set those dimensions on paper, use the default cube or the grid as reference and then start building the walls and add the furniture
The scene looks empty and out of proportions is what i mean in simple words, try to match your references, that should make it better
