I think the marble being able to jump is kind of weird
have you never played marble blast?
As someone who is also making a marble themed game, I love your menu and nostalgic vibe.
Were those camera angles during the countdown pre-set? They seemed a bit jarring
If that was you just moving the camera then you have some crazy mouse control
this looks pretty. how does one get thoise kind of graphics lol
It starts off just orbiting the marble, then when it starts it moves to the player camera which needs some work tbh
It just felt a little overdone, maybe less is more there
but I also don't have your creative vision
so do whatever feels good
When its counting down its me moving the camera though.
ah ok ok
Does look a little weird now that I looked over it. Going to end up making an entirely new into anyways. Thanks for the feedback though! Always appreciated
the graphics are really neat though, just wanted to mention
love the reflections on the track
Thank you! Can't wait to show you all the end result. Should be a lot prettier.
Yo a question if you can help man, I was wondering where did you learn to make the graphics like that? I tried looking and trying much of stuff but just cannot get it to look right
What do you mean exactly? I do have global illumination and RT reflections enabled so that helps if youre asking about lighting. Ill try to help out as best as I can.
well i was asking about the lighting and the reflections and the textures
My main profession is lighting art so that's usually my focus. I also built some simple but custom pbr shaders to help make textures pop and lighting. Its hard to boil it down to advice other than a lot of lighting studies and reverse engineering scenes like Archviz scenes which has given me knowledge on how to setup my scenes, lighting, post processing etc.
i see, well is there any like videos you recommend checking out to understand more about making the graphics better?
If you ever have to ask “how do I make it better?” Maybe you should start with a google search
Asking people is really good for specific questions
oh i have googled and reddited and more lol and i tried just not getting anything visually pleasing.
Little update!
I wanted to share the current state of the latest build, which now includes an early example of one of the core game modes. This scene is a test environment I use for quick debugging and mechanic testing. While I’m holding off on showcasing any levels for now, I do plan to reveal them in the future. My focus at this now is to fully develop and refine the core gameplay systems before moving into the level design phase— making sure all content is built around it. Hope you enjoy!
I Will be creating a discord soon. If you want to help playtest keep an eye out for that link to the server. I will have instructions and spec requirements at some point in the future.
