Code design would involve how code interacts with each other rather than just trying to get some equations correct

yeah you can start going nuts using flowcharts and a big document for how things are related to each other.

Yea that's more what I was referring to when saying it's hard to make those diagrams. I've never found a tool that just isnt a pain to work with

Well those are still just photo editors. There are tools to actually make diagrams, but I've never been a fan of that side of software eng.
I just thought those were the kind of designs being mentioned in the channel
If you look up like a UML diagram you can see itd be a pain to make and edit in photo editors. Or even a flowchart
