Ender pearl speedrunning game I've been working on for over a year, very much looking for feedback! (:
The alpha demo is free on steam!

(if you're fast enough)ENDER is a game about going fast, but doesn't punish you for taking your time. In essence, it is a 3D platformer focused on teleportation. The reason so few platformers have straight up teleport mechanics is cause they usually break every platforming game design principle known to man when introduced. But this game and its...

This looks extremely polished! I’ll try to check the demo later.

Thank you! (:
Yes my philosophy for the public alpha was to make the core gameplay loop and polish up to standards of the full release. In exchange for cutting down on the quantity of content.

how hard is it to publish a game in Steam?

There's quite a few legality things you have to get done first, but a lot of them look more intimidating than they are. Once you're done with that setting up the store page can take some time so i recommend doing that in advance and not at launch. You also have to send the game in for review first, but I don't know the criteria in wich they get accepted/rejected, I'm sure there's documentation for it.
Other than that there is not much to it, I certainly wouldn't call it hard, but it can be a little disorienting at first.

Wow, I haven't played a game this type in a while and it felt really good. The tempo and fluidity of the game were great, but more player and map mechanics would be great for a longer game. Since it's still an alpha version, you probably have some features in mind. Other than that, I couldn't quite understand the function of pressing the shift key. It moves the camera in a very static way and makes me move slower, stealth mission maybe? The camera thing looks a bit weird, as in the attached video. Lastly, completely selfish request. Can there be support for 16:10 screen ratio 🥹

I forgot to mention that the visuals of the game is also very cute.

Ayyyyy! Thank you so much <3
Yes the alpha has deliberatly few "gimmicks", I wanted to flesh out the core gameplay loop as much as possible and then design a good portion of the full release around what people feel is still missing.

The shift key is not super important, I've added it in for a bunch of compounding minor reasons. It lets you line up shots, it stops the "breathing" animation so the crosshair is actually centered and not almost centered, it lets less experienced players not fall off the map because the base movement speed is very high, stuff like that.

I'll look into other aspect ratios (aswell as monitor settings for dual monitor setups). Not a priority, but something that definitely should be in the full release (:
