Hello everyone, This is a toon shader specifically designed for rendering anime-style characters. I believe this shader is a great starting point for studios and 3D artists who want to achieve high-quality anime-style characters in Unity.

Hello, thanks for asking!

Before answering, something needs to be carify:
The above repo only has an Example Shader (The complete version - NiloToonURP , is a VERY good private license shader that you can only get by contact the arthur yourself , The price for it is much much higher than 30$).

The example shader in the repo surely contains less function ASP has.

On the otherhand, ASP is a 30$ anime-style shader that has some feature no other toon shader on the asset store ever try to solved but are pretty important for anime style character and used in the industry for big games:

  1. ShadowMap specially drawn for cel-shaded characters to prevent ugly self shadowing.

  2. Good inner and outer outline effects (Screen Space Outline and Mesh-based Outline for characters)

  3. Post-processing effects for JRPG, anime-style characters (e.g. Tonemapping)

  4. Support the use of face threshold map and also include the map baking tool. Same tech used in Genshin and Hi-Fi Rush.

  5. Option to flatten indirect lighting and additional light, retain more 2D /Cel Shading feel.
    Dedicate Eye Shader

Overall, I'd say ASP will worth every dollor you paid.
