Yup, that one feature that Unity has being hyping up since they adquired it, just got dropped and will no longer be available.

And it just happens after the new CEO reaffirmed recently that he wants Unity to be more focused and closer to the developers in order to regain the lost trust (which is a very big task, at this point)

BTW, thanks for correcting the name, vertx, not sure how that misspell slipped 😅
I view this as Unity becoming more focused. I'm not sure Unity took a super healthy path with the recent company acquisition spree years, so walking them back seems reasonable to me.
It's shitty for those who were waiting for the tech and it's fine to give them flak for that, but this (in addition to the Weta split), to me, brings a lot of confidence that their decision making is a lot more healthy now.
Yeah, them dropping Ziva is a sign that they are indeed making efforts to make Unity more focused, and with that, trying to restore their reputation.
The whole acquisition spree was clearly a mistake that cost them massively in the long term, there is no doubt of that. That was clearly a move to make Unity more valuable for shareholders, and it was not the case. And even if it worked, the whole fee fiasco would have nullified that.
After this, what the new CEO has said and what was shown on the roadmap I have a bit more hope about the new management and the future of the company (except the AI tools, I don't know why do they bother with said tools, and the layoffs, which sucked)
