Hello everyone!
I'm excited to share an idea for a game I've been dreaming about. It's an MMORPG with a twist: think classic RPG world, full of color, where you can embark on missions and battles. What makes it special is its approach to role-playing—imagine being part of a D&D session, with your character's dialogue appearing in bubbles overhead, encouraging you to truly embody your character.
However, I'm at a crossroads with the game's art. While I'm passionate about this project, my skills in 3D art are limited, and I worry it could overshadow my enjoyment of the development process. So, I'm leaning towards pixel art and ummorpg-2D. It's something I find relaxing and manageable, even with my busy schedule.
I've put together a small demo to give you a taste of my vision, focusing on character style and equipment design without borrowing from other artists. I'd really appreciate your honest feedback: would the use of RPGMaker-style graphics appeal to you in a game like this? Would you give it a shot? Please be ruthless and do not worry too much about my feelings 🤣 I just need an honest series of feedback.
I want my game to be immersive, to feel good and cozy.
Thanks for taking the time to help me shape this dream!
