Finished a bunch of the melee weapons for my game. (Top down 2d singleplayer rpg/story game)
Looking for feedback on the items- any and all feedback / comments /thoughts appreciated!
Etc recommendations to layout, certain names/flavour texts being good/bad, ideas, balance issues... whatever.

Setting summary- A fantasy world, focusing on demons and history. Location of act 1 (where these items come from) is the boarder between Sakuros (oni territory- oriental japanese forest mountain area) and Abyssus (human-abandoned lowland forests). Wars were fought here in the past.

Been working on some pixel art for the items
not very good at it but trying to get one slot of items done per day..
will come back to it later.

#

total item count for the demo i want to have playable by end of year is 79
so hopefully by end of april ill have the item/skill/stats system completely functional.

half of the functionality is done already- equipping items modifying stats etc.

Back to working on the item pixel arts again after poe stole a week...
I'll definitely need to go back through and pass a consistent art style (specifically for the edges of items)

What do you guys think?
The weapons i've made look MUCH better when theyre a mixture of outline and colour (like here), but pretty much every other item type seems like its better when its got a black outline.
The items without an outline, like rings, feel out of place.

finished the first pass today.
Will need to go back and probably do a rebalance on them all to get a consistent art style.
Cant tell if i want to go with the black outline or not- it seems to work best on armour items and some abilities like the icy spell, .... while on others, like the lightning spell, it looks awful.
i think i'll just try to reduce the intensity of the black outline

any other feedback or points to improve appreciated!

other equippable spells and items and abilities, all done!

the outline ended up looking quite good i think.

Tomorrow i'll add each items stats and guis to the scriptable objects since i think i now have (most) of the sprites. Last remaining sprites are the equipped version of each weapon but thats it... for gear.
