what do you think about this one

amber sable
#

what kind of games are you planning on making?

cursive dawn
#

not graphically intensive

#

lets say csgo1 graphics

#

also mobile games

amber sable
#

and you need a laptop? can you use a Small Box, or you need the built in screen?

cursive dawn
#

dont know what a small box is

#

i want to work on the go

#

cant move my PC that much

amber sable
#

I take these, and double-sided tape them to screens. get more for the money, usually

cursive dawn
#

thats too expensive and kinda small and inconvenient

#

i need a keyboard

amber sable
#

the laptop you showed will work, as long as you keep your things reasonable. it meets the specs

cursive dawn
#

what do you mean reasonable

amber sable
#

you will not be able to make an MMORPG on that computer

#

mobile things, fine. csgo1, probably

cursive dawn
#

the only thing im not sure is the graphics card

#

it just says amd radeon

amber sable
#

yeah, it has shared RAM. i personally would not get that computer for that price, but you have to go with what your budget allows. In the page i sent you, it shows the requirements. Buying a computer is not a 10 minute process. you Need to understand what those Specs mean. you cannot make games for others until you understand them, nor can you buy the right computer without that knowledge.

cursive dawn
#

its integrated graphics

amber sable
#

yep. in part, that means the RAM and the VRAM are shared. this is slow, and can lead to issues. you want a Dedicated, or DIscrete GPU

cursive dawn
#

yeah but laptops are aways with integrated right?

amber sable
#

they are always Integrated into the laptop, but not always Integrated, as in, on the same Die as the CPU. advertising has blurred the terms.

cursive dawn
#

i found this

#

its a gaming laptop

#

16gb ram

#

2050rtx

#

1tbssd

#

Intel Core i5-12450H

if i was buying for myself, i would not go less than a 2060 or 3060 with 32GB RAM. when doing game dev, you generally need twice the machine you need to play a game. so, if a game similar to what you want to make requires 16GB RAM to play, by this theory, it would require 32GB to make. the xx50 series cards are pretty basic, and lacking VRAM

#

@cursive dawn just saw the specs you posted

I have a 1030 on my pc and it works for my needs
