I have always wanted to make a survival game. I have tried, tried, and tried again over the course of 10 years, and I started when I was 12. At 12, I knew nothing. I was following some tutorial in hopes that I could make a game, and I obviously got nowhere.
10 years later, me and my friend, who shares the same dream are making LandLock Project Wild. A 2D top-down survival game, that's going to be a hardcore grinding journey. Inspired by SurvivalCraft and Minecraft, at a really early age, I love the way both of those games play. SurvivalCraft being a much harder adventure, I wanted to incapsulate the frustration and reward of progress in LandLock. Right now, I have Creative mode enabled, which allows you to have every item in the game, and build infinitely. In the actual release, you will have to craft every item, and then build.
The game currently has:
- Save and Load System
- Day & Night
- URP Lighting
- A Rewarding Building system
- Crafting
- Animals, with AI
- Attack System
- Farming
- Health, Hunger, Thirst
- Inventory
- Item Pickups
- Indicators
If anyone has any ideas, recommendations or constructive critisim, I am all for it. Thank you for taking the time to read my dev-log!
