#model is always black?

sometimes when i import a model, it seems to be black, even with a texture on it, no matter what, it only shows when its unlit, so it may have got to do with the lighting, but how can i fix this? i want to use lit!

Make sure your normals make sense. If you select to import normals by having Unity recalculate them that is usually a good way to check if it's the normals

You can select the model and select how the normals are imported there

Then perhaps you haven't UV'd your model?

If it's a texture issue, then have you mapped your texture to your model at all?

yes i did, let me get a photo to show that its probably got to do with the model

Can you just put a simple UV test texture in an unlit material and put it on the model that doesn't work? I can't really tell what's going on with it, though, I can see the normal map seems to be mapping correctly somehow, it's hard to be certain

Use one as the texture in an unlit material and add it to the object that is black

so you can check that it's correctly UV mapped

Maybe you were confused when I was talking about the model normals, can you check this

Bizarre can't see anything out of place. If you can share the model, that might enable someone to help find what the deal is
