I would try fade, opaque and cutout just to see what the effect is
Keeping Transparent rendering on Material with the Default texture import settings, we get this ugly thing
Trying with Fade rendering on Material makes it look great in the inspector, but does not render on camera ;(
Even with "alpha is transparency" checked?
