You are this guy and the person who passed was his father
His father was a detective who solves the most difficult cases
But his death was unknown
About six months later, the guy takes his father’s place as detective.
Entering his father’s office, he finds a small box on the desk.
The box has a note on top and the guy reads the note.
After reading, he opens the box.
And it was his father’s camera
And there is another note in the box to look under the desk.
Under the desk is 2 boxes of cassette tapes.
The box on the right has all of the tapes of all solved cases.
The box on the left has some tapes of unfinished cases.
He plays the oldest tape that is unsolved.
After watching through the whole thing, he decides to solve this case.
He heads to the location of the scene.
But then, he sees that the entrance is barricaded.
The whole place is abandoned
There was no way to enter
Standing in front of the entrance, he decides to watch the tape of the scene again.
The tape shows his dad recording and entering the building.
He pauses and looks at the door
He tries to match the frame of the open door with the door now
Looking for a few seconds, he puts down the camera…
The door is now open
No planks barricading
the door was wide open in the exact same angle it was in the frame
I’ll probably pause the story here
So the core mechanic of the game is that you have a camera
If you play a recording and try to match the frames of what the tape shows
Whatever was in the frame goes back into what it shows
For example, the tape showed a knife standing on a table.
Looking at the table now, there is no knife.
But if you look through the camera and match the frame from before to after
What was in the frame goes back from what it is now to what it was in the recording
