i was having some issues with my approach when placing the layoutgroup inside a scrollrect

you'll get it

once you get the layout group working well - i can tell from the source there is still a lot for you to do and discover, like how to interrupt a pre-existing tween, which you shouldn't be calling every Update - then you can worry about a scroll rect

oh i dont tween every Update() call

read the code carefully and you will spot a preventive measure for that
