Heya all! From the Unity side, we've heard a ton of questions and use-cases about WebGL and wanted to drop a little info on it here. WebGL is a tool for Unity that has been used in addition to engine-based products or as it's own visualization option. I added a few examples below so you can get a feel for what WebGL can do for those who haven't used it before:

• Interactive Product Visualizations: Companies have leveraged Unity and WebGL to create immersive 3D experiences allowing customers to virtually interact with and customize furniture within their own spaces. These experiences offer a compelling alternative to traditional 2D product images, enhancing customer engagement and potentially boosting sales.
Fisker Ocean configurator (https://www.fiskerinc.com/configure)

And plenty more! Since there's a character limit I'll list the others:
• Architectural Visualization
• Training Simulators
• Educational Experiences
• Data Visualization

These examples showcase just a fraction of the potential that Unity and WebGL offer beyond the realm of gaming. This versatility is constantly being explored, leading to innovative solutions across numerous industries. Here's some more discussion on WebGL use-cases, if you're interested! Anyone knows of any Unity Startup programs?

We are currently building an industrial monitoring solution using Godot/Web tech and wanted to see if changing to unity could be feasible when thinking about the license pricing

I see that now you can get the pro license for 2k/year and use that instead of the industry license until you get 1 million in revenue, but was curious if there are any incentives/grants/help for startups

just got the response from unity
you can use the personal license as a startup until you have revenue, then you'd have to switch to the corresponding one, which is fine for me

no programs for startups like other businesses have though but might be something they could look into

hello there, i'm new in unity industry and wanna use pixyz, if there's guide for "how to setup the pixyz?"

pulsar moat
heavy lynx
pulsar moat
# heavy lynx is there any tutorials about "how to convert point clouds to mesh?"

Yes, you can convert Point Clouds into meshes with Pixyz Plugin, using the Retopologize action and checking the "is point cloud" parameter.

Here's a bit more info about the process:

  1. Import your point cloud
  2. Select the point cloud object
  3. Go to Pixyz Toolbox > Remeshing > Retopologize
  4. Enable "Is Point Cloud": In the Retopologize settings, check the "Is point cloud" parameter. This is crucial for correctly processing point cloud data.
  5. Adjust settings as needed and execute the Retopologize function

Depending on the complexity and size of your point cloud, this operation might take some time. The resulting mesh will be a new GameObject in your scene.

👉 More info on the Retopologize function

ℹ️ There's also a tutorial on the On-Demand Training Platform: Importing a Point Cloud file

Hope this helps, but please let me know if you run into any issues! 🙂

That's actually our primary use on that! But it seems to be really low-used in that sense (or all the companies who use it like this, simply don't like to talk about it?) and it affects negatively the market when people just don't know about it and what you can do with it. Thank you for the compliment! It was a great effort!
The problem with WebGL (that is the problem with web in general) is the loading time. We had to keep it to the minimum by optimizing everything (the whole build of that configurator is just 22MB). One of the first decision I made was NOT using Unity UI were possible. As you can see the left side panel is pure css/html with js hooks to send events to Unity, the only UnityUI are the circular icon to change point of view in the Interior View. In this way we had a better management of responsiveness and ui quality (IMHO, feel free to correct me!). We had to make it work on mobile browsers too and that needed a lot of tests.. we found out that various things working on editor didn't work on those (mostly rendering-related things like shaders and pp).
I recently updated our virtual webgl portfolio (https://funix.it/virtualexpo/) by using Unity6. The worst part of the process is actually understanding if there has been some kind of performance gain and how to quantify that. Any tips?

But I wanted to ask if you set up a baseline before updating - like tracking metrics (FPS, frame time, memory, etc.) using the Unity Profiler or browser tools like Chrome DevTools? Did you run tests in a consistent environment before and after the update? Also, have you explored the Unity Profiler or browser profiling tools to analyze specific performance bottlenecks in WebGL?

Hello community!

I'm starting a project with two other people, and we're all students. We plan to use the Unity student plan for initial development, but there is a possibility that the project could be sold or used internally by a company in the future.

I would like to know:

If the project starts generating revenue in the future, would it be possible to migrate to a payment plan without any problems?

Any clarification or experience you can share will be of great help!
Thanks in advance.

Heya! The Student Plan is meant strictly for educational purposes. If you're developing this project as individuals, the free Personal Plan would be a better fit. Once your project starts generating revenue, you'll need to upgrade to an appropriate license—but no worries, the process will be pretty straightforward! 🙂 Until then, you should be good with the Personal plan. I thought someone checking this channel might’ve made some of their own and could help me kick off 🙂 let me know! Also - if anyone has any tips on how to speed up the workflow of importing lots of files through Pixyz plugin I’d love to hear about it. My use case might require me to import thousands of models at some point and having to do that one by one, first to create a scriptableObject and then to process the model seems like a huge task. If Pixyz doesn’t allow any batch importing, maybe someone found a work around that doesn’t require me to create huge master-STEP files to sort out afterwards.

Hi Lars, the Pixyz IO functions in Pixyz Plugin and Pixyz Studio do not support batch import, or export, of files. That features is reserved for Pixyz SDK, that is meant as a pipeline / automation solution. Another option, would be to use the Unity Asset Manager to process these assets. The Unity Industry license provides a generous tier that could accommodate your use case. Note, that Asset Manager has a Python API, throught the Unity Cloud SDK to automate its functions.

Hi there ! I have a question about licensing.

We are a company that uses Unity to create serious games. Here are a few example of games we do : for insurance companies (e.g., to help reduce risks in hospitals), an application to help users learn the theory for a driving license, a 2d game to help people learn how to escape a building on fire...

Our company’s revenue is well below the $25 million threshold for a Unity Pro license. While we are part of a larger group that generates more than $25 million annually, our company operates as a separate legal entity with its own revenue. We have a team of 6 people working with Unity.

Based on this, I believe Unity Pro is the appropriate license for us. Could you confirm if this understanding is correct, or let us know if we should consider another license?

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

MRIIOT - a few thoughts I have on moving from a Level 2 (Connected) Digital Twin to a Level 3 (Predictive) - enhancing real-time data integration with advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning capabilities. The process requires implementing predictive modeling, historical data analysis, and simulations to forecast future states and optimize decision-making. Key steps include a well thought out data infrastructure, training appropriate AI models, and improving data quality for accurate predictions. The difficulty depends on data complexity, system integration challenges, and the need for skilled personnel, but with a structured approach, the transition can be manageable and highly beneficial. Hope that is a little helpful

I'm building an editor-style application in Unity with a 3D viewport surrounded by UI elements (similar to Blender). What's the best approach for:

Creating a central 3D viewport with standard controls (orbit, zoom, perspective toggle)

  • Ensuring the UI shell properly frames this viewport
  • Handling window resizing correctly (resizing the window should resize the 3D viewport only)

Should I:

  1. Use a RenderTexture or something for the viewport and embed it within the Canvas UI layout system?
  2. Or simply overlay Canvas UI elements on top of a full-screen renderer?

I'm concerned about proper resizing behavior and layout management and don't want to waste a bunch of GPU if it doesn't get culled because behind UI. What's the recommended approach for this type of editor-style interface?

# faint tendon Hi <@260860582159319040> , sorry for the very-very late reply 🙈 I wrote 2 tuto...

Anxiously waiting for the update to whole folder import 😄
Also;

I had some QOL wishes since you've revealed yourself to be working on Pixyz 😛

  1. It would be nice if there was an option to create prefabs from SOs at the location of that SO. If i want to organize my models in various folders, every import or reimport spits out the prefabs at the default import folder, regardless of having moved the SO somewhere else.

  2. This is a major feature request that I'm working on solving on my own, but;
I sometimes have to do various changes to the hierarchy, pivot points, merging, etc manually - i.e not something i can catch with a rule based on metadata or object names. Like rearranging the hierarchy to make some kinematic chain or something, changing pivot points to have correct rotation.

If there was a way to approach saving some of this change-history to the import scriptable object, that would be really cool. Obviously there would be situations where the changed objects no longer exist in the imported model, but that could just throw a warning and that'd be fine. Just some sort of difference detection between the old and new import would also be cool to minimize the guesswork.

Hi guys, I would like to ask the best way to make a chart like this

#

the approach using webview is the final solution to me

dawn kestrel
#

@reef jasper I would draw the data to texture in PNG for example, and then just display it UI.Image.

#

But you can also check the charts assets in Unity3d Asset Store there lot of charts assets

Yes so far I research, it's very hard. Ty!

Hello! I'm briefly invading this space from the educator channel. One of my MSc students is very interested in using Unity Industry for her dissertation project, and we were wondering if there is an education pricing model for Unity Industry? Thank you!

@arctic hollow Is something going on with Unity Industry licensing? We're prepaid until next year and all our licenses for our organization were revoked.

Hello, I am in a critical launch-blocked situation. My LevelPlay account is pending approval, and I have had no human support for over a week.

I have already fixed the root cause of the problem (a "Legal Name Mismatch") on my end.

I have consolidated all my information into a new ticket with the unityads-support team. Can a community manager or Unity employee please escalate this new ticket?

My new ticket number is: [00849252]

I am completely stuck and cannot launch my game until this is reviewed. Thank you for any help.

As per my experience, LevelPlay requires at least one live app to be added to your account before the review can proceed.
If you already have a live app, please make sure it’s added under your account — that usually helps move the approval forward.

Thank you for the advice, Payal. I appreciate the guidance.
I understand that a live app helps move things along. I am taking your advice and am publishing my game to Google Play's Open Testing track right now with only the Unity Ads network initialized (Plan B).
This means the app will soon be "live" with the package name com.FZ_Flashes.AetherFlow.
My core issue remains the Legal Name Mismatch on the locked LevelPlay Finance profile (which needs a manual sync to match my correct Unity Payout Profile: Zakeer Hussain PN).
My question is: Once the app is published to Open Testing, will that action automatically trigger the manual review/sync of the Finance Profile that I need? Or is the only solution still human intervention on my ticket 00849252?
I am doing everything I can, and I just need that one compliance fix to launch. Thank you again.

Hi there,

If you currently hold an active license for Pixyz Plugin 2.0 (product recently renamed Asset Transformer Toolkit), you should have already received an email with important information about upcoming changes.
We’re sharing the same details here on the forums to ensure you’re fully informed and can take any necessary action.

Since May 30, 2025, all versions of the Pixyz Plugin package (com.unity.pixyz.plugin4unity) older than version 2.0.12 are tagged as “deprecated” in Unity Package Manager and in your Unity projects where they are used. Expect a message to be displayed.

On November 28, 2025, all deprecated versions will be completely removed from the Unity Package Manager. To ensure uninterrupted usage, we strongly recommend uninstalling deprecated versions from your projects and install version 2.0.12. Rest assured, this version maintains the same features and behavior as the older versions, allowing you to continue using the package seamlessly, until your license expires.

We kindly remind you that licenses for Pixyz Plugin 2.0 can no longer be purchased. Unity is here to accompany you through this change, please don’t hesitate to contact your Unity representative.

More info on the forum: https://discussions.unity.com/t/action-required-update-pixyz-plugin-2-0-to-version-2-0-12-before-november-28-2025/1696864

Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce myself. I am Derek, a Senior Solution Engineer at Unity.
