Every so often, whenever I do the events and get into the hundreds, and it ends, it ends up sending me back into the participants after I restart the game to get the event to actually complete, because if I don't, it ends up just continuing into the negatives.

I've heard of some issues happening if you're in the event right up until 00:00, so I'd advise exiting just before it ends.
Also, the leaderboard number isn't always accurate. It's really only 100% trustworthy when you right enter the sim. It's hard to say whether this is a bug if you were in the event for some time before the end.

Someone else mentioned being ranked as participant after having got pretty high.
What did you mean continuing into the negatives? The timer? It sometimes goes negative for 15 mins or so until the next event properly starts.
