C2S version 44_17, on Beyond, after setting the spin speed to max for a few minutes, I managed to make the Earth's side that is looking to the Sun turn dark and the other side turn bright - seems it also applies to the bug Roseus planet you can see behind. However while you are far away the light side will be towards where you are looking, and will rotate to show the light. Other Solar system planets have this far-distance part of the bug too.
