This wasn't such a problem while I was prestiging, as it reset after prestiging, but now I can't level up other cards and already have enough cards for fully upgrade Giant Vertebrae card.

I got the same issue. The game seems to really like to give trait cards for the Argentinosaurus, especially Giant Vertebrae. I only open geodes now because those also give mutagen but even with geodes the same issue occurs. I guess this is intended behavior to give more cards for the highest two dinosaurs that you have. But when you're at max prestige this is not helpful anymore.

Pretty sure the mystery trait has always prioritised the traits for the higher level dinos you have access to.
I also recollect talk about an old bug that existed where the mystery trait did get stuck. It was supposedly fixed ages ago. Might me back though?
