Stress tested the friend list by adding about 130 people. When viewing your list, it stops scrolling after 102 people (17 pages of 6 names). You can drag it to force a couple more to show but can't see all the names.
Edit not have 400+ and still caps at 102 being visible.

Seems so. I looked at how many were listed on the event friend list, added 50 new people and the number didnt change. Its unlikely that 0 of those people have played the current event.

Did some testing on Events. No matter how many hundreds of friends I have, the event list always shows approximately the same number around 70.
Event end date = number of friends on event list / number of total friends.
