So I discovered this bug when I realised my research said id reach the next level in an hour however next time I checked it it stated 23 days.
This glitch happens when you click on the research tab while In the singularty menu. I've attached a few photos with a time stamp to show this. I tapped the research tab about each time I took the photo without leaving the research screen.
Just to be clear all these screenshots were taken within a minute of eachother each time I pressed the tab the total research per minute would change. Sometimes lower other times higher.

The time to finish is done pretty instantaneously. It likely said an hour because your game hadn't finished calculating the offline earnings.
