so the menu button disappeared after i opened the game and went to the exploration hub (issue was only present in exploration hub). To see if the issue was everywhere i went to the main simulation but the menu button came back, then i checked in the explorations hub and it was back there too, might have been a loading bug.
Never had this issue before, it only happened this once and i can't recreate it.

i just updated the game, current version is 33_83, idk if the version number changed with todays update (if it did, i assume i was on version 33_82)
