Hello there,
I am playing Cell to Singularity for a few months now. As of today i can not play anymore because the Game gets stuck in Loading screen (first screenshot).
I used the check File Integrity option several times. Once even without starting the game between checking. It always says one file is corrupt and will be reacquired (second screenshot).
I guess it is corrupted on the download server.
I really enjoy playing the game but i will not start over.

Same issue 😦
i used to have that issue but it got fixed by just changing my wifi from public wifi to private
I am using cable and i have a private network.
Generally same issue here, but my game freezes later into the loading screen, and no file issues come up. Nothing's worked so far.
check if your antivirus is deleting one of the game files for being a trojan. it's happening to a lot of people
Why do you use something that is classified as a Trojan? It was indeed my Antivirus deleting the file every time. And it will probably do it again.
Thats called a false positive. I guess the issue was with assembly-csharp.dll. The file isn't classified as a trojan and the file format and name is in fact pretty common. It's just your anti-virus fucking up because from their perspective, it's better to have have false positives than false negatives
I see 🙂
what do u use metabits for, i have 6
ask in #💬-cells-chat (I'll write an answer there right now)
Hey @thorn compass @earnest prawn @open lion @night wharf are you guys still having the issue with the kaspersky anti virus on the latest version of the game?
My issue isn't an anti-virus issue, and I'm not for certain as to what exactly my issue is
My best guess is mine has to do with file corruption, that the verify-files operation can't detect. I'm not the most tech-savy so that's the best guess I've got.
I have Kaspersky too and I am still having the issue.
My issue is resolved, i told Kaspersky to ignore anything Cell does and let it restore the deleted file.
yes kaspersky still flags it
the first time kaspersky flagged it was a VHO, now it flags it as a HUER trojan
yup, still an issue
Hey thats helpful, could you send screenshots of this if possible?
Some more screenshots/videos of the game that shows this anti virus detecting the game would be helpful. We'll contact Kaspersky about this as well
pictures of what my kasperky captured and displayed of the most recent and the first time it was captured
i don't even start the game up for Kaspersky to capture it... it just takes about a minute or so after verifying file integrity and install
@here would it be possible for you guys to try updating your game to the latest beta version and checking if the anti virus complains again?
- Go to the Steam Cell to Singularity main page.
- Navigate to Properties > Betas.
- Enter the beta access code:
cellsalphatestand click "Check Code".
The latest beta contains the new production build that will be going live late today or early tomorrow, so we would like to check if that fixes your issue
Just to confirm, your game is on version 30.79 right?
yes
Great, I assume theres no issues with kaspersky as well right?
so far nothing... i'd have heard the pop up for it
and nothing in the logs from windows
Awesome! thanks for checking it
yw
Yes, it helped! The game loaded and Kaspersky no longer finds "suspicious files". Tnx! 🤝 🤓
My issue isn't an anti-virus issue, but I gave the beta and alpha a try anyways, and it didn't work, but it was worth a shot, thanks
I found some files that I presume are crash logs whilst tinkering around though, if those could help in any way. They're called "mono_crash.mem." and are a file type I can't open, .blob. Could these help in any way?
Do you still have this on the latest version? could you send a screenshot of the issue?
Yes, and sure. Game still freezes on the loading screen whilst booting it up. Freezes consistently around here, ladder-half of loading.
Each freeze/crash leaves what I presume is a crash log of the issue, but I cannot open these logs to find out anything. Some crash files are from older versions, some are the most recent version, some are from trying to start it in Alpha and Beta versions. (oh and I'm on a macos if that info is needed)
Edit: I'm still unable to play, same issue.
I presume from the radio silence here that there is no solution to my problem, is there?
I do not know what you tried already thus I am sorry if repeat stuff you already did. So if you have done the file verification without any change, maybe a uninstall and reinstall might help.
Thanks, but yeah that didn't work. I've uninstalled the reinstalled the game several times, checking to see if the occasional update to the game fixes my issue. File verification brings up nothing and fixes nothing.
Given I'm running on older hardware (a 2017 MacOS), there's a chance my device isn't supported anymore, intentionally or not. I'm not sure of this, since the last time a game I played ended support for my device, it came with a proper steam error message/code, and here it doesn't, it tries to boot up the game and fails at that.
Are you enrolled onto the beta program or is this on the production version?
