I also noticed this as soon as I reached that zoom level yesterday.
Focusing on any galaxy-scale object and then unzooming (circled minus sign) tries to focus on some other locked object (presumably the whole galaxy) but can't do anything because it's locked. "Object locked" pop-up still shows in the bottom right.
