This is a bug or exploit that I know myself.
May I say, I have used it for months on end. Currently only "patched" in the main versión, on the main evolution grid, It is punished by setting your SAVE file to a anomalous or corrupted one. You can't gain more progress offline. However, it still works on the other evolution grids. How it works? Change your device's time backwards and, after reloading the game, jump forward. That way, you gain progress where you shouldn't be gaining any. You just skip time. Kinda OP, not gonna lie. Still, you require a great amount of motivation to do it for so long. Not sure if it works on other Operative Systems other than Android.

Quick dev tip: it only works on any offline or semi-offline game, so its gonna have to change to fully online if you want to change it. Or just use the previous "patching tip".

It can be fixed, but it would require cts to be fully online, for now there's anti cheat that frequently gets rid of cheaters making them not able to participate in the race and leaderboard

I really think you are right, but, if we are here for beta-testing, this might help to get more bugs found and faster, so this might have to stay
