I played exclusively on a steam deck until now, but decided that I wanted to continue playing on my PC. Upon loading the game on my PC, all my progress was completely reset. Going back to the steam deck resulted in the same (all progress reset). I was able to restore one of the saves, but I basically lost one day of progress.
I suspect the cloud didn't sync correctly while transitioning to the PC, while it did sync when I tried to go back to the steam deck.
What I did:
- Installed the game on PC
- Launched the game immediately after installation - Steam was syncing the game (stupid of me, I know). Steam completed syncing while loading the game.
- The game started with the progress completely reset
- I turned off the game on PC
- I started the game on the steam deck. The progress was reset.
- I checked the steam cloud to see if there was a backup save. There wasn't. The backup save I found had the timestamp of when I switched to PC (2/29/2024 12:32)
- I restored the save from the steam deck using the "save restore" feature. Timestamp was 2/28/2024 02:08:29.
I additionally checked the steam save after closing the game on the steam deck. The save still shows 2/29/2024 12:32 as a timestamp.
Is there a way for me to recover my progress now? What can I use the steam cloud to tranfer my save between my steam deck and my pc? I'd like to play on both devices (PC during the day, steam deck in the evenings), is that supported and possible?
