I keep seeing things like this on every event. Folks trying to cheat left and right. Not fair to people like me who grind it out and spend real $ on the game. I hope this guy gets knocked out of the top 10, not just the top 3 or better yet banned from the game.

In short, is cheating really a major problem in events? If so, why?

I don't even understand how that worked tbh, maybe it detected 1m25s as cheats and made the time internally very long, so the person will always et bottom placement for this race (except for possibly other cheaters)?

So then, what's the situation here, is this person a bug or a cheat? They got 2nd place, even though the game is reporting them to not have concluded the milestones for the race, and they even have a timestamp that couldn't be, the race has been going for the time is on my stats, I've been racing for the second place with just one more person, and our times match, this person that took the 2nd spot, came out of nowhere... I'm at 100% only having to get the last milestone to finish my race, will I be 3rd or 2nd? It may be petty, but I haven't unlocked everything on the logit store since I've took race seriously only recently and the bonus logits for these spots help 😦 This is also this person's first run at this race, they only have 3 badges for this event, so it couldn't be that they have a bonus production over me, I've considered that to doubt their progress.
I've just finished the race, and I've placed 3rd, I was expecting this, since clearly there's no handling for these situations. If the 2nd place is correct and it's just the game reporting wrong then fine, but if indeed is a bug or a cheat, it feels wrong to lose like that. Me and the 4th were racing for the 2nd place and that feeling is what I like about the events, but when someone steals your place like that, it damper your whole mood for that kind of competition, that's not to say I blame the devs for these situations, as a dev myself I understand their side on this. Cheating/exploitation in a competitions is cheap behavior, but we've seen it time and again 🤷♂️ I just hope that sometime in the future we have a way to report it so it can be delt with

Not how the system works: it's not about when one finishes that determines ranks, but how fast. Therefore, you can bump down people who finished earlier, but slower and get their logit prize without them losing theirs.

Since you were 3h slower, you got the lower rank. This isn't an issue with the game, it's and issue of dealing with waiting a week for 5 little logits- hardly worth griping over, no matter how many you have

I think you misunderstood. That person got a 2d14h when the run was already on 2d17h. During a race I'm constantly checking the timers and productions of competitors. That person just appeared on the rank as finished, their progress and also their production/s doesn't even match the one of a finished race. But I won't indulge further inquiries on this, it'll lead nowhere.

I just realized I said "It's a bug" and then immediately said "it isn't an issue with the game"
I will say though I have experienced the race time being a certain amount, say ~1h, and the finish time being less, like 45m
This could be one of the bugs involved
Another being the bug that causes the person to appear as having completed and not completed the race at the same time
It of course, could also be a person that really wanted ("needed", as you might say for yourself) the logits, so did a little bit of cheating right at the end of the event
