I'm not exactly sure why this happened, I just loaded up the game and my it started at the beginning. I can reload an earlier save thankfully, but the thing is, the game saved at a point where I only got 2 out of 3 badges of the latest James Webb Telescope event, and that's just really annoying. Would there be a way to recover the save, or get the last badge at least? (I'm not on beta version.)

Nope. I just carried on, with the last badge missing, much to my annoyance. 
But eh, not a big loss all things considered.
