I've noticed that the Gemini Constellation Boost (witch increases your research boost for astronomy Missions) only works when you're in the game.
That means:
When I'm in game I can see the timer running down at 2 times the speed.
But when I come back 1 h later, only the progress for 1 h is added and not for 2 h.
I'm not certain since when this occurs but I believe it worked for at leset the Beyond "first stage"

welp i assume it hasnt as ive tested it out right now, the bottom red dwarf was queued ~1h before taking this screenshot
(i.e. i set a timer for 1h, closed the game, and then reopened it)
